DJ/Producer Hektek is an American artist from the Bronx, NY who started out in the early 90's as a DJ playing music at local parties and community events in the New York City area.
He has toured 145 cities 27 countries across the United States, Europe, Asia, and the middle East as a hype man, sound man, and as a DJ performing at bar lounges, nightclubs, and music festivals. Sharing stages, opening shows for Afrika Bambaataa, Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Grand Wizard Theodore, Red Alert, Afrika Islam, George Clinton (Parliment Funkadelic), Naughty by Nature, DJ Craze, Fatboy Slim, Pharoah Monch, Kelis, Biz Markie, Lloyd Banks, B.O.B, Tyga, Q-Tip, DJ Spinna, Janelle Monae, Slick Rick, DJ Maseo, DJ Skribble, Rich Medina, DJ Q-Bert, Tony Touch, Mos Def, Tiesto, Benny Benassi, Paris Hilton, Todd Terry, Kenny Dope, Cypress Hill, and others.
As a guest DJ having the opportunity to play music at venues across the globe which include Pacha, Privilege in Ibiza, La Machine Club, Mama Shelter in Paris, France, Columbiahalle, Yaam in Berlin Germany, Waagenbau, Moondoo Nightclub in Hamburg, Germany, Rote Sonne in Munich, Germany, The Hiltl, Mascotte, Zurich, Switzerland, Guggenheim Museum in Venice, Italy, and Sandance Beach Dubai, UAE.
In New York City Hektek has played music at The Hudson, Apt, Coffee Shop, Yotel, Le Poison Rouge, Highline Ballroom, The W Times Square, Guggenheim Museum; as well as Uptown NYC popular hot spots like Charlie's Bar, Bronx Brewery, Mott Haven Bar and & Grill, Beatstro, Sapoara.
In addition to being a part of major events which include Rock The Bells music Festival, Afro-Punk Festival, Ice T's "The Art Of Rap" DVD release party, Zulu, Hip Hop Anniversary party, The Roots Picnic Music Festival and NYC Park's Foundation Summerstage concert series.
